FOLLOWING what seems a controversial decision to allow East Lancashire NHS chief executive John Thomas to retire, may we the catering department express our best wishes to him and his family for the future.
Mr Thomas was regarded very highly by all staff in this department due to his honesty, enthusiasm and all-round personality and manner. Not only has the trust lost a great chief executive but a great friend, too.
This man will be hard to replace but good luck must go to the new chief executive.
Many are aware what Mr Thomas has done for medical services in this area and these achievements are greatly appreciated, not only by staff but patients.
A true gentleman and a people's person, all the best Mr Thomas! And a huge thank you for all your kindness and generosity within this department.
Goodbye and good luck, John!
S HUDDLESTON (Mrs), Restaurant Supervisor, Queens Park Hospital, Blackburn.
