THE site of a popular Ramsbottom pub is to be redeveloped into new houses and apartments.
Plans to change the Pack Horse in Whalley Road, Shuttleworth, were passed by Bury Council's planning committee on Tuesday.
One neighbour said: "This is the only pub in the area that residents use. All others in the areas are restaurants as well."
Potential problems with parking and the number of cars it would bring to that area were also raised before the committee. But now a single storey extension on the northern side of the pub will be demolished and the remainder of the building redeveloped into five apartments. A further four houses will be built to the rear of the pub with a car parking area.
