A MAN who fell to his death from the Metrolink bridge at Besses in Whitefield has been named as 35-year-old Craig Batey.
He plunged from the bridge, overlooking the M60 near Junction 17, onto a carriageway of the motorway at 5.10pm on Saturday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Father-of-four Mr Batey, of Parr Lane, Unsworth, had suffered long-term sickness. He lived with his mother.
Police say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, and the coroner has been informed.
