LOCAL bands will pit their musical talents against each other in a bid to raise money for a project in Africa.
The Impact Group, based at St Bernadettes Church in Whitefield, has organised a Battle of the Bands event on Friday, March 18.
The group is made up of youth members who aim to make an impact on the community by organising social and fundraising events.
This latest event will help to raise funds for a shelter in Africa, which will help women and children suffering from Aids.
Held at St Bernadettes Social Club, in Bury New Road, the Battle of the Bands will feature performances from four groups from the Prestwich, Whitefield and Manchester area.
Doors open at 7.30pm and the bands start at 8pm.
Tickets are £6, which are available on the door or by using the Internet to e-mail mattyhall@hotmail.com
