DEAR MASSI,
I was introduced to a prospective marriage partner by a family friend.
We have met each other a number of times and every night we talk about anything and everything. We get on really well. However, when I was introduced to him I was told he was marriage material.
I am not sure whether he was told the same of me.
We talk and have gone to dinner but he hasnt once brought up the question of the future and marriage. I dont know if I should look elsewhere now and thus keep my options open.
He doesnt seem the shy type at all.
It is really frustrating at timers and I just want him to come out and say it. It is difficult to keep meeting him all the time and my parents are asking questions.
I am not one of those who likes to get involved in this dating lark but at the same time I dont want to sound desperate. What should I do?
YK
Preston
MASSI SAYS,
I dont think you should worry too much. It might be easy to drop a hint in a conversation somewhere. But I think you are going about this the wrong way.
If you are looking for a marriage partner then you need to be sure if this man is the one for you. And at this stage you seem quite content with him despite him not asking him to marry you!
Maybe this stems from the fear of rejection. I dont think you will sound too desperate if you hint across to him about his future plans.
It can be a quite innocent question which may lead to further discussion.
He may well have a bubbly personality but at the same time be as apprehensive as you.
There is only one way of finding out without getting a third-party involved and that is to come and say what is on your mind. He may even think more highly of you for taking the initiative!
