WITHIN hours of a Journal appeal to find the owners of a lost treasure trove of photographs they have been claimed.
The four albums discovered by Leigh couple Keith and Marion Aldred while trawling through trash in their attic at their Firs Lane home are back with their rightful family.
They include two small wedding albums of brothers Ian and Steven Disley in 1966 and 1973, snapshot albums of what life was like on a family holiday in Colwyn Bay in the 50s and 60s and newspaper cuttings of the lads sporting achievements.
Marion, who has lived in the Firs lane house for over 30 years, said: "We are pleased they have gone home."
Steven who now lives in Newbrook Road, Atherton, said: "We are delighted that our wedding albums and family photos have been found, it's good to have them back where they belong. They brought back many memories and thanks go to the owners of our old house for their foresight in trying to find us instead of throwing them away."
