A NEW footpath is the latest piece of the jigsaw in the transformation of a park in Radcliffe.
The new three quarter mile health walk will help to boost Close Parks recently-acquired Green Flag status.
The path has recently been installed around the perimeter of the playing fields, linking to the other pathways and facilities in the park.
It will give dog walkers and cyclists the opportunity to lead a healthier lifestyle by using the footpath.
Residents are being invited to the official opening on Wednesday, March 23, which includes a 30-minute walk led by the Park Rangers.
Cllr Mike Connolly, Bury Council's Executive Member of Environment and Transport, said: "We are committed to ensuring that we are creating healthy and welcoming environments in which to exercise.
The Health Walk Launch will give people the opportunity to partake in a light form of exercise in a fun and friendly environment."
