CHORLEY manager Shaun Teale has demanded more leadership from his players on the pitch.
Teale stated last week that his side had nothing to fear following their narrow defeat to league leaders North Ferriby.
But after last Tuesday's home defeat to Woodley Sports the manager slammed his players for their "unacceptable" attitude.
He said: "We went behind in the second half and the heads dropped.
"You can't start sulking on the pitch when things don't go for you, it's just unacceptable.
"You have to be man enough to get back in the game and we didn't do that."
Teale himself was forced to watch most of the game from the bench after going off injured in the fifth minute.
He added: "I was bawling and shouting from the touchline but we should have players on the pitch taking responsibility anyway.
"We can't have players looking at each other saying 'well ,if you do it I'll do it'.
"We have to be bigger and better than that."
His comments came before Chorley's defeat at Kendal last night (Tuesday).
Chorley's third sucessive defeat leaves the Magpies in danger of falling back into the relegation battle as they lie just six points above the drop zone and face a tough away match, at promotion candidates AFC Telford United, on Saturday.
Injuries have taken their toll as Mattie Woods, Gavin-Lee Ellison, Andy Haworth, Richard Fogarty, skipper Jamie Vermiglio, Paul Monteith and player-boss Teale have all had to miss matches.
But the squad has been strentghened by the siginig of left-sided midfielder Ian Dickinson, who played for Chorley for a spell three years ago
Chorley's performances during February, when they hammered Shepshed Dynamo, beat promotion-chasers Eastwood Town and drew away with high-flyers Gresley Rovers, has earned them the Endsleigh Insurance First Division Goalscoring Award for February with 10 goals in the month.
They also walked off with the First Division's UniBond Fair Play Award.
It is the second time in four months they have taken the sporting prize, having won it last October. Chorley were the only outfit in the whole of the UniBond League not to receive any yelow cards, let alone a red card during the month.
