I WAS a miner in the Yorkshire pits for 33 years and an now retired.
For the past few years I have been a keen collector of colliery checks or tallies, local ones at first then checks from other coalfields. Unfortunately though I have very few from Lancashire collieries.
Are there any fellow ex-pitmen out there who could please help me obtain any checks from the now closed pits of your area to add to my collection.
