I REFER to an article in the Lancashire Evening Telegraph (March 1) regarding a former student of the College of Islamic Knowledge and Guidance in Blackburn who pleaded guilty to plotting to blow up an aeroplane.
I fully agree with the comments made by the Lancashire Council of Mosques in condemning the individual.
However I do not agree in the way the media in general cover these stories by bringing religion into this matter.
Why a "Muslim" or "Islamic" terrorist?
IRA or Loyalist terrorists in Northern Ireland are not described in the media as Catholic or Protestant terrorists!
Terrorism is evil irrespective of anyone's religion.
