ARSONISTS are being blamed for starting a fire in a concrete storeroom in the grounds of a Whitefield school.
But firefighters were able to tackle the blaze after a smoke alarm inside the building at Ribble Drive county primary school activated.
Officers said a hole had been made in the corrugated roof before lighted material was dropped inside the storeroom on to a plastic box containing toys. There was 20 per cent damage to the contents inside Fire crews from Whitefield and Agecroft tackled the outbreak which happened at 3.15pm on Saturday.
Officers were at the scene for around half an hour.
