BURY magistrates have adjourned the case of a man who admitted an act of domestic violence to a special hearing.
Michael Barlow (34), of Nuttall Avenue, Whitefield, admitted assaulting Deborah Geraghty at Radcliffe causing actual bodily harm. But although he admitted he had hit the complainant two or three times, Barlow refuted a prosecution allegation that he had kicked her or had brandished a knife.
Because of that disparity in evidence the magistrates adjourned the case to a special hearing on April 8 to establish which version is to be accepted.
Barlow was granted bail to April 8 with a condition to stay away from Coomassie Street in Radcliffe.
