The father and son made for them, a daring trip.
First time ever left their Hill-Billy shack!
From deep in the heart of the backwoods,
To the big city, way off the track!
They had never been used to modern conveniences.
Had log cabin, wood stove and rocking chair,
But were happy enough in their own way of life,
Not envious of others, didn't care!
Going by Greyhound bus, took several hours
Getting off, their eyes opened wide
Seeing skyscrapers, diners, lights and traffic,
They believed it was well worth the ride!
Going into a department store
They looked at the goods on display.
All they had was a tiny shop,
Was too much to take in, in one day!
One thing caught the father's eye
An elevator door opening wide,
Into which a frail lady with Zimmer frame stepped,
The lift closed with her safely inside!
A moment later the portal opened,
Out stepped a good-looking blonde.
The old chap couldn't believe what he'd seen.
Like someone had just waved a wand!
The father soon got over the shock
Gave instructions to his son.
"The trip's been beneficial, I've cracked it!
Go back home and bring back your mum!"
