A JUDGE has ordered anyone who may have information about a missing 14-year-old Blackburn girl to inform the police -- or face arrest.

A recovery order was yesterday made by Blackburn County Court, instructing anyone who may have information about Shenade Jeal's location to inform the police.

Anyone who is later found to have had information and not disclosed it will be liable for prosecution.

Shenade, who is in local authority care, has been missing since Friday March 4 when she was on a trip with an organised group in Pilsworth, Bury.

She is described by police as a vulnerable young girl and there is increasing concern for her safety.

There has been no reported contact between her and the circle of friends she would normally have communication with.

Detective Inspector Ian Critchley, of Blackburn police, is co-ordinating the search for Shenade.

He said: "She has many friends in the Blackburn area but equally has contacts across East Lancashire.

"She may well be staying with friends who are unaware that she is reported as a missing person.

"It is thought that she may well be in the Manchester area and inquiries are being aided by Greater Manchester Police.

"I would ask that if anyone has any information about where Shenade is that they contact the police immediately.

"Indeed, following the recovery order being made, there is now a positive obligation for anyone with information to inform us."

When Shenade went missing she was wearing light blue jeans, a green halter neck top and white lace-up boots.

She has shoulder length blond hair which had been dyed mid-brown, but this may now be different.

Anyone who has seen Shenade, or knows where she is, should contact the police on 01254 51212 as soon as possible.
