A WOMEN-only Race for Life event is being planned in Lancaster this summer - to raise vital funds for a charity's world-class research.
The 'Race for Life' aims to recruit more than 400,000 women nationally to walk, run or jog 5km and help to raise a staggering £23m.
All the cash raised will help Cancer Research UK, funding work such as the charity's research project at Lancaster University to investigate a process in cancer cells that often enables them to keep growing and multiplying to develop more targeted treatments in cancer.
The local event will takes place on July17 and more information is available from 08705-134314 or by logging onto the website at www.raceforlife.org.
Last year a record 409,000 women took part in Race for Life across the UK and raised a staggering £21 million to boost research work.
