RESIDENTS in Prestwich were affected when more than 3,000 homes in Greater Manchester were left without water after a major mains burst.
Parts of Prestwich, Blackley and Crumpsall were without water since early on Wednesday but the service has now been restored.
Middleton Road southbound near the Victoria Avenue junction, Higher Blackley, was closed due to flooding.
Road surface damage from standing water means the southbound carriageway for 200m from Victoria Avenue could stay closed for repair until Saturday.
