A 14-year-old girl is seriously ill in hospital after she was involved in a road Traffic accident in Tyldesley.
Police are appealing for witnesses after schoolgirl Carmen Mather was seriously injured when she was in collision with a silver Landrover Freelander on Astley Street on Monday
The collision happened at 8.15am on Astley Street near to a bus stop before the junction with Ennerdale Road.
Paramedics attended the scene where they treated Carmen's injuries before she was taken to Royal Bolton Hospital suffering from serious head injuries.
Carmen was then transferred to Royal Manchester Children's Hospital in Pendlebury where her condition is described as poorly.
An investigation has been launched into the accident.
Police have appealed to anyone who saw the accident to contact them.
