LEIGH Centurions have suffered a major blow with experienced Australian playmaker Jason Ferris ruled out for at least a month with a fractured cheekbone.
Ferris, 29, who was signed from Manly in the close season, was hurt in Friday's 46-6 home defeat by Bradford and has undergone surgery.
Coach Darren Abram said: "It's a big blow for Jason and the second time he's suffered such an injury."
A consultant confirmed Leigh's worst fears on Monday and now the Centurions' major midfield organiser will be missing for eight to 12 weeks.
