ASDA has started to clean up a grot spot behind its store in Radcliffe.
Environmentalists in the town criticised businesses and litter louts for turning the banks of the Irwell behind the Pilkington Way store into a tip.
But now Asda has arranged for supermarket porters to clear the site daily.
An Asda spokesman said: "This is not just a one-off. We will be trying to keep the area clean and tidy."
