GAS and electricity bills could be cut if the European Commission forces member states to make their energy markets more competitive.
Radcliffe-based MEP Gary Titley, Labour leader in Europe, says monopolies are driving up prices in Britain, as we have to import gas from the continent as North Sea supplies dry up.
Mr Titley says the commission's investigation should signal a sea change in the way companies operate, and help British residents and firms.
