A special church service will mark the start of Holy Week.
The combined churches of Ramsbottom will be staging a Taize Contemplative Worship on the evening of Palm Sunday, this weekend.
The service, which originates in France, will involve the playing of melodic music as well as singing, prayer and readings. The service is designed to allow the congregation to "lose themselves in worship".
St Mary's Church in Hawkshaw will host the service, which will start at 6.30pm.
