CARING for the carers! That's the Bolton Street Business Club in Bury which has closed its bank account and presented the £200 residue to the Bury Carers Group (Mental Health).
The cheque presentation coincided with the fact that Councillor Yvonne Wright, who founded the club, was closing her Irresistible ladies fashion shop business in the area.
The £200 was accepted by former Bury Woman of the Year Mrs Lily Reid who has been a carer for more than 30 years.
Coun Wright said: "We've now wound up the account of the club which helped promote the area and helped local businesses."
Mrs Reid said the Bolton Street Business Club had been a friend in the past to her organisation and said the money would be used to provide a treat for carers.
