X-FACTOR favourite Rowetta returned to her roots for an exclusive fundraising evening in Whitefield.
A former Bury Grammar school pupil, the talented singer performed for many years as a backing singer for Manchester band The Happy Mondays before entering the television competition.
As the last female standing, she wowed audiences week after week with her powerful, soulful voice but was beaten to the final by two other artists.
Rowetta repeated her impressive performance to a select audience of 95 at the home of Juliette and Darren Rose, in Ringley Road.
The event was organised by the Nicky Alliance Day Centre, which is in Middleton Road on the Prestwich border, and raised £8,000.
The centre is close to Rowettas heart as her grandmother Minnie Clifton attends the facility.
Event organiser and fundraiser for the centre, Shelley Blackston, said: "It was a wonderful evening and Rowetta performed to rapturous applause.
The auction raised £3,950 and the whole evening raised a staggering £8,000 in aid of the centre."
