BURY Grammar School (Boys) was transformed into Rydell High School for three sell-out performances of the popular musical Grease.
The cast, drawn from both the boys and girls grammar schools, transported the audiences back to the rock and roll days of the 1950s. Thomas "Travolta" Wilks played Danny while Sarah Lewandowski took on the role of Sandy.
With sparkling performances from all the cast, and some superb dancing choreographed by Olivia Sherrington and Helen Griffiths, the show ended on a high note last Saturday (12).
Johnny Casino, played by William Webster, went into the audience during Born to Hand Jive, even daring to polish some of the heads of the males who were unable to slick back their hair in the usual 1950s fashion!
Producer Mrs Dorothy Stoddard and musical director Mr Chris Hyde were both delighted by the performances and are already looking forward to the next joint production.
