AN artist's design for the proposed £58 million development at Townside Fields in Bury town centre has been unveiled.
Four blocks, built between Bury Town Hall and the Metrolink line, will comprise offices, apartments, retail space, and a new crossing to the tram station.
Ask Developments, who have set up a joint venture scheme with Bury Council to transform the site, say they expect work to start within 12 months.
Designs are being worked up, and a planning application is being prepared for a May submission.
The council plans to move some of its employees into the new building, with the environment and development services team going over by March, 2007.
The joint company, Askbury, is in discussions with another major occupier looking to take up to 50,000 sq ft of accommodation within the 350,000 sq ft scheme.
Ask Developments have previously been involved in regeneration schemes in Manchester, including Barbirolli Square, the Malmaison Hotel and Deansgate Locks.
