MARSH United have moved to within six points of North Lancashire Football League leaders Kirkby Lonsdale with a 4-1 victory over Ingleton.
Chris Bibby gave Ingleton an early lead but man-of-the-match Neil Marshall equalised from the penalty spot before half time and went on to complete a hat-trick to seal the points.
Realistically, though, Storey's are the only team who can hope to catch long-time table-toppers Kirkby, who were on cup duty again on Saturday.
They won their place in the Westmorland FA Senior Cup final by beating favourites Wetheriggs in a penalty shootout - as Storeys were beating Morcambe Royals 4-1 to stay in fourth place but still with four games in hand.
The goals came from Chris Parkes, Andy Sanderson, Nick Pinnington and Carl Harwood, with Aaron Horton replying.
CCM Dynamos won a hard-fought game against Squires by 2-1 after going behind early in the game. The Squires lead was overhauled with CCM goals both scored from the penalty spot by Steve Wiggins and Layton Young.
Westgate Wanderers gained a valuable point against in-form Power Station Westgate's Aaron Simpson was named man of the match after neutralising an early goal from Dave Mattison.
Cartmel won a close game against bottom-of-the-league Slyne Hest by 2-1, with Paul Airey and Joel Drinkall eclipsing the goal from Slyne's Steve McQueen.
And in the basement battle between Caton United and Arnside, it was Caton who played all the football to come out 5-2 winners, with Steve Oliver (2), Darren Green, Warren Quinn and a John Mason own goal doing the damage.
City Contract Services went back to the top of Division One following a 4-1 verdict over Allithwaite in a scrappy game - with Gary Jjohnson, Simon Marshall, Mark Brown and Ollie Wellock all on target.
But Torrishholme, leaders at the start of play, were beaten 3-0 by mid-table Swarthmoor for the second time this season.
Vine stay in third place after beating Morecambe Royals Reserves, who were undefeated in nine games at the start of play. Ben Wood and Andy Crook scored for Vine, making the final result 2-1.
Championship and promotion favourites Highgrove did not have it all their own way against Burton Thistle, winning 4-2 against a side struggling to stay in the division. Both Burton Thistle goals came by way of the brilliant Chris Plevey.
Community Sports were also made to struggle against relegation haunted Holme Athletic before Lee Watson (2) and John Arnold found the net in the second half. The final score was 3-1.
The race for promotion from Division Two is hotting up after leaders Halton Rangers lost 2-1 to Grange while second-placed Bentham overcame a stubborn Bare Rovers 4-0 and Bolton-le-Sands made amends for last week's disappointing draw by thrashing Arnside Res 5-0, helped by a hat-trick from Antony Lewis.
