AUSTRALIAN Jason Ferris and Leigh Centurions have parted company with immediate effect.
Ferris joined the Centurions for their inaugural season in engage Super League but found adapting to life in the UK difficult, especially with his family staying in Australia.
Compounding his situation is the recent injury sustained against Bradford Bulls that will see him on the sidelines for four to six weeks.
The club and player have agreed to terminate the contract, leaving the Centurions with the opportunity to bring in fresh talent to bolster their squad.
Leigh's football director Steve Blakeley commented: "It is always sad to see a player leave under these circumstances. We wish Jason and his family well for the future, however our main concern now is to bring in a player to fill the slot vacated by Jason.
"There will be no panic buy, but a definite drive to bring in a quality ball player to provide the team with that cutting edge."
