THE fresh green of spring is here at last
Cold grey winter is now in the past
Bulbs spring forth with brilliant hues
The bright sunny daffodil, and hyacinth of blue.
Carpets of snowdrops, so pure and so white,
Gently swaying in the bright sunlight.
The birds' sweet song is a joy to hear,
Warmer weather is ever so near.
The world wakes up to a brand new season,
To be thankful for living is given a reason.
ANN DAVIS (Mrs), Tiverton Drive, Blackburn.
