CULCHETH WI experienced microlighting for the retired through the experiences of speaker Noel Alms.
He told members the machines were an innovation from the space programme in America in the 1960s and gave the history of their development and regulation.
Brenda Seddon was thanked for organising the snowdrop walk and the Cheshire Federation has given the institute £10 with the instructions to make it grow, the profits to be split between the two organisations.
The group is to donate £500 to the parish hall redevelopment fund.
Dates for the diary include a group meeting on April 27 when Isobel Hamid speaks on "Wait Till I Get My Hands on You and trips to the Ice Show at Blackpool on March 24 and to Bolton's Octagon Theatre on May 25.
The craft meeting on April 26 covers pewterwork while in the following month there will be on open meeting on healthcare when osteoporosis tests will be available.
The next meeting is on April 19 at 2pm when Frank Bonser will speak on "A Day at the Seaside"
