I HAVE no option but respond again to Councillor Mike Connolly's letter (March 11). He accuses me of inaccuracies, but then fails to highlight any.
Furthermore, he totally ignores the main point, that is the abysmal way the innocent supervisor was condemned to months of stress awaiting the outcome of a trial when it took the jury only a few minutes to find her not guilty. Also the stress and trauma experienced by the innocent motorist involved, Kevin Maguire, and the unnacceptable wait for a just conclusion to this whole matter.
Obviously the "office politics" of NCP need very close examination. This company is far from the satisfactory operation that Coun Connolly describes and defends.
Through all of this he and others continue to ignore my repeated claims regarding the "slow" setting of meter clocks, which I believe has been going on for two-and-a-half years.
Coun Connolly needs to "get real". There is an awful lot of money to be made for NCP and the council from privatised commercial parking without "ripping off" residents and visitors.
I am beginning to wonder just who are the real culprits: NCP the operators, or Bury MBC who condone, by their lack of action, its many obvious failings.
