A WOMAN has been charged with murdering her boyfriend after he was stabbed during an incident at their home.
Sonia Clark, 25, was arrested after Lee McEwan was allegedly attacked at a terrace house in Argyle Street, Darwen.
He died from a single stab wound.
Clark was charged yesterday and was due to appear before Blackburn magistrates today.
Paramedics went to the house, off Blackburn Road, at around 2.25am on Saturday after receiving a call to say a man had been stabbed.
They treated Mr McEwan, 27, at the house and he was taken to Blackburn Infirmary but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police launched a murder investigation and Clark was arrested shortly afterwards.
She was questioned by police over the weekend.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Johnson said: "A Home Office post mortem examination has been carried out on the victim and the cause of death has been established as being a single stab wound."
According to police, Lee's family, who are believed to live locally, were said to be in shock and were too upset to speak publicly about what had happened.
