WE ARE told the increase in anti-social behaviour is because, apart from the pubs and clubs, there is nothing for younger people to do.
The Kingsway site has been cleared at last. Within 20 minutes walk of this site lives half the population of Lancaster.
Is not the most pressing use for this site to provide activity opportunities for younger people? I would suggest a swimming pool, ice rink and dry-play areas.
If we fill it instead with commercial outlets, the Labour Party, which controls us at all levels of government, must take full responsibility for the continuing and increasing anti-social behaviour.
While not in her constituency, it needs someone of Geraldine Smith's skill and determination to provide better community facilities. Perhaps this will be an issue in the May 2 elections.
