THE lights in Lancaster's Ryelands Park will soon be shining bright after power company United Utilities completed its part of the work.
It has taken almost a year since the job was started for the new lamp standards to be illuminated.
But a spokesman for United Utilities told the Citizen this week: "Our work is now done and we apologise for the delay.
"This was caused by a variety of reasons including obtaining permission to temporarily close Torrisholme Road in order to connect the lights to the mains."
Lancaster City Council can now move in and connect the remaining lamps to the power.
"We can now work on our part of the job," says a council spokesman.
