RESIDENTS are planning to meet with town hall bosses after a youngster was hit by a motorbike on a nearby road.
Cory Reilly-Sully (14), of Spruce Avenue, collided with a motorbike in Deal Street, Bury, on March 1. His leg was badly fractured in the collision.
Now neighbours are campaigning for restrictions to be added to the roads around the area, which are regularly used by speeding motorcyclists.
The group will raise their concerns with the economy, environment and transport scrutiny panel on Tuesday at Bury Town Hall.
Mick Blain, who lives in nearby Cedar Street, said: "There are so many children round here, it is a constant worry that something might happen to one of them. One of the neighbours is now taking down the registration plate numbers of any speeding motorbikes that pass through the bollards.
"We want to meet with members of the council to let them know how dangerous this area is."
Residents want to see the road blocked off permanently with a road block that will allow only emergency vehicles, push bikes and buggies access to the estate.
Bury North MP David Chaytor has already backed the campaign and has viewed plans put together by Mr Blain and the residents.
