A MASTER Dutch bulb grower is back to add more colour to Leigh's streets.
Last year Peter Lubbe supervised the planting of half-a-million crocus and daffodils around the borough and he and his specialist planting machine will once again be working with Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust, Wigan Council, Wigan Rotary Club and the Youth Offending Team.
He said: "Our family business has been supplying and planting bulbs in Dutch towns for more than 50 years.
"Now, as we add colour and spring freshness to Wigan Borough, I hope the people will enjoy the flowers and feel happy and proud of their towns."
A massive effort to 'green' the borough has so far seen dozens of trees and more than 1.5m bulbs planted and its Leigh's turn next with a plan to plant masses more bulbs. Write to: The Street Scene Team, New Market Street, Wigan, WN1 1RP.
