A LOCAL fair owner is to help a 90-years-old charity champion reach her fund raising target.
Henry Hill has organised a fun fair challenge to help Kath Smith raise £28,000 for equipment for Pendlebury Children's Hospital before her May 31 deadline.
Kath has spent over 20 years raising over £1.5 million to help sick children.
The Swinton pensioner started her quest in 1983 after her husband, Eric, died of cancer and the money has been used to buy equipment for theatres, the intensive care unit and the pathology laboratory.
Mrs Karen Hill said: "We have been involved with helping her fund for a couple of years and hope people from the Leigh area will take it to heart.
The fair will be in action at the Warrington Showground from Thursday until April 4 between 12-5pm and 5-10pm each day and tickets are £9.99 for a full five hour challenge session."
