RADCLIFFE motorcycle ace Rob Barber is all set for a summer of top class racing.
Rob, a 24-year-old data engineer from Ripon Close, recently received notification that he has qualified to compete in the Suzuki GSX-R European Cup.
The prestigious competition is to be held over five rounds.
It follows the World Superbike meetings at Valencia, Spain; Misono, San Marino; Lausitzring, Germany; Magny Cours, France and Britain's Silverstone track.
First off for Rob will be the trip to Spain for Round 1 at Valencia on April 24, which coincides with Round 3 of the WSB.
It's a massive step up in profile for the former Coney Green High School pupil.
For the past two years he has been competing in the National Superstocks competition which are run in conjunction with the British Superbikes.
It was his fine performances during last season's series - his first on a 1,000cc machine - that earned him the invitation to compete in the Suzuki GSX-R competition.
His best result was a second place at Snetterton.
"I really can't wait to get out to Spain for the first round," said Rob.
"I have just one more race in the Superstocks in two weeks time and will miss Mallory Park before going out there.
"It will be a dream come true for me and I'm going to give it my best."
Although he has major sponsors in Garic Plant Hire, Kais Performance and Robinsons Motorcycles of Rochdale, Rob is on the lookout for a title sponsor in the GSX-R Cup.
Any company keen to exploit his profile on the European and World stage should contact him on 07957 801812.
