THREE thugs attacked a teenager during an attempt to steal his mobile phone.
The 17-year-old boy was targeted by the trio in Mather Street, Radcliffe, shortly after he had got off a Metrolink tram.
As he was walking he passed a group of between three and four girls, standing next to a car, and three males.
While the victim was talking on his mobile, one of the males grabbed him from behind and knocked him to the ground. He was punched and kicked and a failed attempt was made to wrestle the phone from his grasp. The offenders made off in a black Vauxhall Corsa.

The second was 5ft 9ins tall, with short black hair, a thin face and wearing a white T-shirt and black tracksuit bottoms. The third was 5ft 8ins and of slim build.
