All players intending to bowl in this competition are requested to be in attendance for 12.45pm.

THIS event will be held at Whitehead Park Bowling Club on Sunday, July 31, 2005, start time 10.30am.

Entries are invited from mixed pairs, limited to 20 pairs. Guaranteed four games each pair.

Aggregate league scores up to the semi-final.

All entries to be sent to Jean Crossley, 61 Watling Street, Bury BL8 2JD.

Entry fee £5 per couple. Cheques should be made payable to Whitehead Park Bowling Club.

TOTAL PRIZE MONEY £1,240

TO be held at Walmersley Conservative Club, Mather Road, Bury.

Open to men and women (128 max) entry fee £5 (cheques to be made payable to Walmersley Conservative Club).

Eight qualifying sessions each 16 down to two.

DATES: Saturday June 18 - one session 2pm; Sunday June 19 - two sessions 10am and 2pm; Saturday July 2 - two sessions 10am and 2pm; Sunday July 3 - one session 10am.

Finals day - Saturday July 16, 1pm start.

Prize money: W £400; R/U £200; 2 x £100; 4 x £50; 8 x £30. Scratch out - when called.

OPENSHAW PARK BA

WEEK 16 of Openshaw Parks winter bowling series again resulted in a different winner with only one week to go.

This weeks champion was the Huntley Unionist and Black Lane wizard, Kevin Newbery, who defeated Tottingtons Keith Rigby in the final 21-19.

It was nice to see a husband and wife team get to the semi-finals with Mr and Mrs Hemsley of Halifax just missing out.

Other notable performances came from Ted Ashworth, Michael Clough and Frank Heselwood.

The ladies prize was won by Mrs Stockton of Dobbies and the subsidiary winner was Alan Seel of Whitefield who defeated William Stockton of Dobbies 15-8 in the final.

Neville McWilliams would like to thank all officials and friend for the kind thoughts during his stay in hospital.

Thanks to all staff at Fairfield General Hospital Ward 19.

BURY ASSOCIATION

FRIDAY NIGHT MIXED PAIRS

NEXT meeting for the Mixed Pairs League to be held on Friday evenings will be at the Turf Hotel on April 22, commencing 7pm.

The meeting will be to finalise the number of teams (£40 per pair).

There can be up to eight in a team. Current prize money is £320.

RADCLIFFE PARKS LEAGUE

WILL all clubs please note that Black Lane A team will now play their fixtuers at Tottington Conservative Club.

Black Lane B will continue to play at Black Lane Bowling Club.
