SEDGLEY PARK 10 STOCKTON 10: There was little to choose between the Colts National Plate teams throughout.
If Sedgley had the more talented individuals, Stockton's teamwork was superior, and they did just enough to deserve their "win" as the away team, both sides having scored two tries.
Both Sedgley's tries were scored by Under 17 number 8, Matt Lamprey, who, with Leyton Taylor and Peter Downs, was outstanding.
The overall standard of play was disappointing, however.
Sedgley may not have deserved to win, but they almost took the game in the final five minutes, being denied twice, once by the bounce of the ball and once by a handling error.
They might have also been awarded a kick in front of the posts, but the penalty decision was not forthcoming and, in any case, two easy kicks had already been missed.
