SEDGLEY'S Under 13s became the first Park team to get their hands on some silverware this season, winning the Easter Sunday 7-a-side tournament at Pocklington RUFC.
After a tricky opening game which Park were lucky to win 7-5 against the host club, the team moved into top gear with easy wins against Pocklington B (49-0) and Bridlington (31-0).
The final round-robin game was against Driffield and Sedgley won this 14-7 before taking their place in the final.
Not surprisingly, Pocklington were their opponents.
This time Sedgley looked the better team and took the trophy by winning 14-10.
During a pleasant day's rugby, all nine of Sedgley's players scored at some stage in the competition, with Ashley Robinson (4 tries) and Jonathan Marr (3) leading the way.
Captain Andrew Dauncey and play-maker Louis Singleton played throughout all five matches without being substituted.
