ABSOLUTELY fabulous, darling!
That's the verdict of a group of women who are determined to help people grow old "disgracefully".
Whitefield woman Karen Tenzer, and her business partner Jackie Sheridon, who lives in Wilmslow, are spearheading a campaign to change the misconception that people of a "certain age" are past their sell-by date.
The pair, who run event management company Professional Events Management (PEM), have launched an exhibition specifically targeted at men and women over the age of 50.
And they have roped in family and friends to help them promote the Grow Old Disgracefully exhibition, which is being held at the Manchester Airport Moat House Hotel, in Wilmslow on Sunday, April 17.
Karen's daughter Orly, together with Gemma Basger, also from Whitefield, are both graduates from the London College of Fashion.
They transformed Gemma's mum, Lynn, into the most disgraceful over 50-year-old of them all - Patsy from TV programme Absolutely Fabulous.
Infact, Joanna Lumley, who plays the outrageous character, was voted one of the most sexy over 50-year-olds in a recent survey at the age of 58.
Karen (53) said: "The concept of Grow Old Disgracefully was conceived, unsurprisingly, over a couple of drinks in a pub. We were talking with friends about the lack of exciting things targeted specifically at our age group and we thought: 'Hey, why not put together an exhibition to give people ideas of how to run, leap and jump into their later years'.
"It's not all needlecraft and the Women's Institute when you hit your 50th birthday."
The exhibition will feature salsa dancing, motorcycles, wine tasting and the chance to win free flights with VLM airlines or a ride on a Harley Davidson.
