THE parents of a 14-year-old girl who died after a collision with a car as she walked to school have appealed for information.
Carmen Mather, of Astley Street, Astley, was crossing the road outside her home on March 14 to catch a bus to school when she was in collision with a silver Landrover Freelander. She was treated for her injuries at Royal Bolton Hospital but died the following day.
The driver of the Landrover has been interviewed by police.
Today in a statement issued by police, Carmen's parents, Philip and Carol Mather, said they were devastated and apealed for the driver of a car travelling behind the Landrover to come forward.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 0161 856 7273 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
