ONE of Leigh RMI's greatest products has capped his footballing life after Hilton Park by turning out against England.
Wing-forward Steve Jones - now with Crewe Alexandra - came off the Northern Ireland subs bench at Old Trafford with just three minutes to go of Saturday's 4-0 defeat to David Beckham and Co.
Twenty-eight- year-old Jones banged in the goals that helped Steve Waywell's RMI up to the Conference level that they now look set to vacate five years later.
"It was a great experience out there and just a shame that it didn't work out for us in that second half", said Jones as he reflected on his Old Trafford visit.
"It's always an honour to represent the country but you don't always get to do it against players that good and on stages that good", he added.
