SINCE the former Bentwood factory in Leigh Road, Leigh, closed over two years ago residents who live close by have had to endure, tipping, druggies, and power cuts as a result of vandalism on the site - which can only be described as a blot on the landscape.
Now they have witnessed gypsies moving into the area and four caravans have been pitched at the rear of the building.
Don Whittle tells me police have visited the site, councillors have been contacted and they now await the lengthy process of having the gypsies evicted.
It's about time the owners did something to rid this area of the eyesore and gave the residents back some peace of mind.
