A FORMER Hyndburn couple have set off on an 'end to end' charity bike ride to raise cash for Diabetes UK.
David Greaves and his wife Anne Campbell set off on Thursday from Land's End and plan to reach John O'Groats more than 800 miles and two weeks and a day later.
The epic ride will see them cycling around 60 miles every day in their efforts to complete the mammoth challenge.
It is hoped the event will raise more than £1,000 for charity as both David and Anne's parents suffer from diabetes.
David, who used to live in Manchester Road, Baxenden, has since moved to Scotland with Anne.
David's proud mum Ella Greaves, of Manchester Road, said: "I think it's a fantastic and selfless thing to do.
"They have already generated quite a lot of sponsorship but would like to be able reach their £1,000 target and with a little bit of help from the local people here I am sure they will be able to do that."
Anybody wanting to sponsor the intrepid couple should contact David on 07766 440097.
