HOPPERS will be greeted by a colourful celebration of Lancashire food on the opening day of the first Rossendale Alive Food Festival.
The traditional market in Rawtenstall will almost double in size with temporary stalls in Bank Street to mark the start of the second Rossendale Alive Week on Saturday, June 25.
Local treats on offer include Rossendale's championship black pudding, award-winning sarsaparilla, fudge from Bacup's Fudge Factory, Holly Cottage preserves and Park Farm home-baking.
There will also be specialist foods from around the county provided by Made in Lancashire, joint sponsors along with Rossendale Leisure Trust and Lancashire Economic Partnership.
The market will be followed by the music and dance festival on July 2, from 9.30am, which is also part of Rossendale Alive.
