I wholeheartedly agree with Jackie Harrison (Bury Times June 7, 2005).
One has to wonder what planet the East Lancashire Railway people inhabit if they regard people strutting about in Nazi uniforms at Bolton Street Station as fun.
There is NO educational value in this foolishness. Thanks to the heroism of the RAF, there was NO Nazi invasion of the British mainland and NEVER were Nazi uniforms seen in Bury during World War 2.
By all means, celebrate the "bulldog" spirit of the British people during the 1940s, but any notion that living under Nazi occupation was fun, except for Nazis and their collaborators, is entirely misplaced.
