BACUP and Rawtenstall Grammar School will present 'Shakespeare and Music on a Midsummer's Eve'.
Part of the Rossendale Alive 2005 festival, it is to feature a world premiere piece composed by Alan Rawsthorne, an ex-Rossendale man famous for his Hollywood music.
His tunes have featured in such films as The Cruel Sea, starring Ava Gardner. He died in 1971 but recognition is growing and is now appreciated by a new generation.
The entertainment will include a performance by Helena Kean, a mezzo-soprano, and a illustrated talk exploring whether Shakespeare lived in Lancashire during his 'wilderness years'.
A photographic exhibition will also capture 'Shakespeare's North Country'.
Tickets cost £6 for adults and £4 for concessions from Anne Shaw at the school on 01706 234500.
