I find it ridiculous of the way that the Muslim community in Britain forever shout about 'what the labour party done for them?'.
The UK is a multi-cultural society. Political party's should not favour particular needs of communities on the basis of their religion. So when, a permission for a 'Mosque' is refused there must be a good reason.
Furthermore, if you start to segregate yourself from the wider communities you will find that 'exclusion' instead of 'inclusion' will thrive. That does not mean that ones religion or culture should be undermined in any way. But, it should be approached in a manner that is both amicable and acceptable to all communities living side by side.
It should not be a question of what labour or any other party has done for a particular community but what the party has done for all the community and the wider benefits to the communities, such as provision for pre-school education, health, job creation etc. all the more important aspect of life.
If you want to demand benefits to the your community then you must be constructive about it. Those benefits should be translated to benfit the whole community, and demonstrate the need, aims and objectives.
I do not support war or terrorism or any type of fundamentalism. Taking of human lives by any means is demonic, even if it is under capital punishment.
Britain's entry into the Iraq war was totally misguided. I do believe that Blair must have realised some of the finer points were out of place, but then it was too late. Britain had 200,000 soldiers already posted in the region and it was a matter of political survival.
I do not believe that it was an attack on 'Islam' but rather attack on western and American hegemony over oil. If you want to break that kind of hegemony than we must be much more constructive in placing grievances. Making this an Islamic issue, undermines the wider issues and creates misunderstanding, ignorance of the wider facts and far reaching implications that underlines it.
Lets tie our hands in humanity, and fight for the cause to rid human sufferings around the world. We are at greater danger of destuction from natural causes than from any other danger upon us.
Don't let your life waste away, make a difference and you will be remembered and rewarded.
